Tanya is the founder of the TLC charity
which was set-up in 2007 to support the charitable
projects of the staff of Tamar worldwide.
TLC's mission is to improve the lives of children in the communities in which Tamar staff live and work.
Importantly for Tanya the charity is not just about giving money but about rolling up sleeves and getting stuck in alongside the local community to improve facilities and environments.
In 2007 Tanya took all the Tamar staff to Cape Town for a ground-breaking 10-day project to build classrooms in a township school.
In 2008 the Tamar team improved IT & learning facilities in a home for handicapped children in Shanghai, China.
In 2009 TLC came home to the UK and built an outdoor learning area for a school for the deaf in Balham, London.
I decided to set up the charity to enable Tamar staff to help those less fortunate than ourselves in the communities where we live and work.
